PLG Athletes of the Month – March

Congrats to our first PATTERSON LEGAL GROUP ATHLETE OF THE MONTH!

Peyton dedicates extra time to her schoolwork as she works extremely hard toward her goal of gaining a scholarship to Wichita State University. Peyton runs track and cross country and had her first injury last season during cross country. While she was down and out, she worked effortlessly to get back into shape and is primed to do really well in her freshman track season. While she runs for NW High, she is also part of BSR Track Club. All of this while earning honor roll achievements! Peyton is also blind in one eye and has a prosthesis, but many people aren’t even aware.

National Human Trafficking Awareness Day

National Human Trafficking Awareness Day on January 11th brings attention to a crime that leaves a lasting toll on human life, families, and communities around the world.

We had the honor to visit Hope Ranch For Women a few weeks ago and were completely blown away by every aspect of this place. We are beyond grateful to have such a wonderful organization in our community.

Hope Ranch for Women is helping women and teen girls who are victims of human trafficking and abuse by giving them a safe place to call home as they heal.

Patterson Gives Back – Giving The Basics

Giving the Basics was founded in 2011 in Kansas City on the premise that no one should go without the basic items needed to be clean and live a normal life.  Basic hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, toilet paper, and toothpaste are essential for human dignity, self worth, and general good health.

Giving the Basics started it’s first affiliate program in Wichita, Kansas in January 2019 and has grown by partnering with non-profit organizations and local schools to distribute personal care items. Giving the Basics distributes free hygiene products through a consistent monthly ordering process and works with nurses, teachers, social workers, counselors, administrators, local pantries, shelters, and other 501(c)3’s and the Wichita police department to determine how we can best serve the students in local Wichita schools and children and adults in need in the greater Wichita area.

Your help will immediately impact Wichita’s community and bring dignity, health, and the opportunity to thrive to children and adults through our hygiene hub. To make a donation, please visit: https://www.givingthebasics.org/donate-wichita
