The Caring Community Foundation (CCF) is about connecting, growing and giving – growing funds for the future of our local communities and connecting donors to needs they care about, right here at home. The CCF was initiated in 2015 to serve the general geographic area of Pottawatomie, Marshall, Nemaha and Jackson Counties in Kansas. From its inception, the Foundation has been busy pursuing its action-oriented vision: Enhancing Vibrant Communities!

Show Me Women Who Care is a giving circle in Andrew and Buchanan Counties in Northwest Missouri.

*We meet four times a year
*Three women explain a local cause
*All members in attendance vote
*All members write checks directly to the winning charity  
This is all done in one hour or less!  Sounds pretty easy doesn’t it?  It is!

Our goal is to donate $10,000 to a nonprofit organization within Andrew and Buchanan Counties per quarter for use on a specific project decided by the Show Me Women Who Care’s membership at their quarterly meeting.  It is recommended that the charity serve both counties if possible.  

Kadens Kloset is completely donation and volunteer run. When a church, business or organization commits to hosting a Kadens Kloset, we solicit donations from community members, the congregation, other non-profits and area businesses of new and gently used items to fill our community closet. Examples of these donations include monetary and financial contributions, baby items, children’s clothing of all sizes, shoes and outerwear, bedding, toiletry or hygiene items and luggage. 

​Foster and adoptive families, children in care, teens, expectant mothers and local families in need are then invited to “shop” the closet, FREE of charge.

Our mission is to provide reliable access to healthy food, build connections with community partners, and empower neighbors to meet their basic needs.

WHAT WE DO:

Our mission is to provide free veterinary care and related services to pets of people experiencing homelessness. Using a One Health approach to street medicine and pop-up street clinics, we care for lives on both ends of the leash. For a slideshow overview, click here. We believe every nail hammered, every wall raised, is a rejection of hate and a step toward a future where everyone – irrespective of class, color or creed – has a decent life.

Since 1984 we have built 115 houses and renovated or repaired hundreds more. Topeka Habitat for Humanity builds strong and stable neighborhoods by building strong and stable homes. 

To break the cycle of poverty, low and medium income individuals and families need their income spent on housing that provides a decent, affordable place to thrive and build wealth through home ownership.

Since 1995, NGWR provides education, advocacy and support for the veterans suffering from the complexities from today’s battlefields.

About Holton Community Theatre

How we got started

Holton Community Theatre was accidentally founded in 2014. One summer day, Shannon Wittmer and Carolyn McKee felt that the community was missing something. They decided to offer a dinner theatre experience in October of 2014 on the evening after the yearly Holton Fall Fest. 

That first play was Cafe’ Murder. It was a horribly written play that was “tweaked” profusely before auditions took place. Originally, this event was created as a one time event, however, the success was so spectacular that another show was scheduled for summer 2015. HCT held their first summer drama camp and produced the all kid musical, The Big Bad Musical. Nunsense followed close behind and soon a theatre Facebook page and website were created out of necessity.
