Patterson Gives Back – Hope Ranch

Founded in 2006 by Ken Scroggs and his daughter Kassidy, Hope Ranch Therapeutic Riding Center in Manhattan, Kansas, began as a dream that has evolved into a thriving program. Starting in a rented facility, the program has expanded to a 30,000 sq. ft. indoor arena on 35 acres in Riley County, Kansas. Kassidy played a pivotal role as a young board member and Program Coordinator until 2019. The organization aims to provide a safe, peaceful, and educational environment for individuals in its programs.

In 2018, Hope Ranch, Inc. acquired the Daisy Hindman Girl Scout Camp in Topeka, Kansas, leading to the establishment of the Mission Creek Camp & Retreat Center. The camp, which had its inaugural season in 2019, offers a unique experience that combines therapeutic riding with a camp environment for individuals with disabilities. Additionally, Hope Ranch Therapeutic Riding Center – Topeka officially opened its doors in the Spring of 2020.

Patterson Gives Back – Family Promise

Family Promise began as a local response to the crisis of family homelessness in Union County, New Jersey. More than 30 years later, we’re a national movement with a presence in almost every state and serving nearly a quarter of a million people a year.

We develop innovative solutions and form strategic partnerships in communities across the country to best meet the needs of the families who come to us. We’re a national organization making a local impact, and our collective impact is tremendous.

But the core of what we do is still local—partnerships within a city or county changing lives. Family Promise makes that possible by developing and supporting Affiliates that address family homelessness right in their own community.

Over the past three decades, Family Promise has continued to expand our scope and our reach. Today, we comprise more than 200 Affiliates across 43 states and are the leading national nonprofit addressing the issue of family homelessness.

Patterson Gives Back – ICT FOOD RESCUE

ICT Food Rescue began when founder Stephanie Merritt returned to college at the age of 46. The courses that she took to obtain her degree at Wichita State University in conjunction with a job where food surplus was thrown out every day inspired her to find a way to make a change. Merritt started small, just rescuing whatever food surplus, whenever she could. She found out that if she were to form a non-profit organization the sky would be the limit. In February 2016, ICT Food Rescue (formerly known as Wichita Area Coalition for Kindness) came to life. Soon after, Merritt began inviting friends to ride along on food rescues and even riding along on some rescues herself in bigger cities on the coasts. ICT Food Rescue is what it is today because of those that are passionate about feeding people and not landfills.
