Patterson Gives Back – Emporia Community Foundation

The Emporia Community Foundation (ECF) connects the diverse citizens and communities of Lyon and its six contiguous counties through the charitable actions of a variety of funds established for the purpose of bettering the lives of individuals within its communities.  As a 501c3 Foundation, the ECF continues the traditional Kansas heritage of providing nonprofit service and supporting the charitable giving requests of donors who wish to enrich the quality of life of local citizens.

ECF represents the Kansas counties of Lyon, Chase, Greenwood, Morris, Osage, Coffey and Wabaunsee.

There are several Types of Funds whereby donors may focus their interest.  These funds are established by individuals, families, businesses, and other nonprofit organizations that have made unordinary commitments to the needs within the community. Their sole purpose is to make the “community” a better place for perpetuity.

Patterson Gives Back – Be Able Community

A Few Things About BE ABLE

We are a group that has collectively noticed the gaps and the individuals burdened by falling through.

We wanted to open up a shop for those out there who perhaps don’t fit in, are reluctant to move forward, or don’t know-how. We each have ample experiences with the fantastic social service organizations of the Manhattan area and have taken note of the growing need to serve those in the gaps. Operating from a stance of loving your neighbor as yourself, we will serve our neighbors with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Patterson Gives Back – Critter Care of Topeka

Examples of What We Can Do:

Janie is on disability and cannot help herself when it comes to rescuing cats. She has trapped a homeless cat; rescued an abused cat; and took in an abandoned cat. This last one she did not think she could keep. However, after it was neutered, this slightly wild cat started curling up with her at night as well as getting along with the rest of the cats. She kept it. These are just a few that Critter Care has helped.

We are nearing 1,500 spay/neuters – Please help us and people like Janie eliminate the pain and suffering of companion animals by reducing the number of litters and homeless pets.

Patterson Gives Back – Humanities Kansas

What are the Humanities?

The humanities help us understand what it means to be human — to seek connections with people and place. As we draw on our diverse histories, literature, ethics and cultures, we see more clearly who we are as people and define ideas that will shape a future worthy of generations to come.

The humanities start with stories — stories that connect us, that tell us who we are and where we’ve come from. They help us draw on insights from history, literature and culture to live richer lives.

The humanities generate ideas — ideas that change lives, that make each of us better citizens, and that strengthen the choices we make every day at home, at work and in our communities.

The humanities inspire action — action that changes lives and strengthens communities and our democracy.
